Johanna has a teaching degree in music (voice) and special education, researching about inclusive and accessible school practices for students with neuropsychiatric conditions (NDC), how structures and norms shape school systems and its personnel. The thesis includes, for instance, the framework of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Article 1, a systematic review of students with autism in inclusive settings, lifts the student perspective, analyses definitions of inclusion and describes how the prevailing perspectives shape the practice (submitted, under revision). Article 2, about the importance of considering student perspectives when designing educational practices, describes two interventions about teachers’ awareness in NDC after learning about the students’ perspective on school (submitted). Upcoming studies analyze professionals' development in designing inclusive, accessible schools, teaching for the diversity, based on the NDC students’ perspective.
