Senior Lecturer

What influences the decisions to tell or not to tell colleagues in the workplace about hidden disabilities? The study "Invisible impairments in working life - different perspectives on disclosure" puts focus on both the experiences of individuals that have hidden disabilities as well as the institutional processes in working life that have an impact on such experiences and decisions. Methodologically the study is influenced by institutional ethnography. Therefore the study aims at making visible the connection between individual experiences and institutional processes. Further, it aims to understand ruling relations in work organizations and what they can tell us about ruling relations in today’s Swedish working life on a more general level. The aim of the study is to understand the processes in working life that either hinder or encourage the disclosure of hidden disabilities.
